AARC Online Exam Prep: Therapist Multiple-Choice (TMC) Pretest & Posttest

Please note, you cannot retake these tests after completion.

Each of these SAEs is a 140-item online self-assessment examination (SAE) that mirrors content and complexity specifications for the NBRC's Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination. Developed by the examination committee, the SAE helps prepare examination candidates, credentialed practitioners, and students who want to measure and improve test performance.

The actual Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination contains a total of 160 items (140 scored items and 20 pretest items). The self-assessment examination does not contain any pretest items.

When you finish this self-assessment examination, you will receive a report that provides the text of each item from the examination along with an explanation for each option. The explanation for each option starts with a code that defines the intent behind the option. Option codes are defined below and will be included in the post-test Feedback Report.

h = a response that could harm the patient
u = a response that is not correct
a = a response that could be acceptable, but is not the best among the four options
c = the response that is the best among the four options and credited as correct
e = a response that engages thinking about ethics

To take this test on the web you must have the following:

AARC Online Exam Prep: Clinical Simulation Examination (CSE) Pretest & Posttest

Each item is a 20-problem self-assessment examination (SAE) that mirrors content of the problems on the NBRC's Clinical Simulation Examination for Respiratory Therapists. Developed by the examination committee, the SAE helps prepare examination candidates, credentialed practitioners, and students who want to measure and improve test performance. The actual Clinical Simulation Examination contains a total of 22 problems (20 scored and two pretest). The SAE does not contain any pretest problems.
